Welcome to Folklore Hill

Our little family run farm, based in the Lower Mainland. Growing garlic, cut flowers, and bee friendly plants.

Thankful for family and friends on another great garlic planting day! We got them all tucked in and ready for their winter nap.

We still have some garlic left from our 2025 harvest if you haven't already got some let us know.

We have limited amounts of medium left and lots of small if you are looking for bulk small (more than 5 lbs) we can make a deal.

We’ll be taking a small break from flowering as we enjoy our last few days as a family of 3, and our first days as a family of 4. We’ll be back with market bouquets, bulk buckets, and more within the next few weeks. We are also hoping to squeeze in a few more u-picks in August and September, so stayed tuned if you’re interested but missed out last night!

2024 was a big year for us. I set myself a goal of working on consistency. I wanted to grow enough to make 5 mixed bouquets a week from May to September. It wasn’t easy- there were weeks when I had to get creative and scrounge around my garden to find enough fillers and foliage, but I did it! We started 2024 growing everything in our front yard. We knew that it wasn’t ideal, especially for a growing farm business, but it was all we had access to and we were determined to make the most of it. Through a serendipitous turn of events, we ended up finding nearby farm land for us to grow into next year and into the future. We are so grateful and are so proud of everything we’ve accomplished this year! 2025 is going to bring even more beauty!

Hi everyone 👋🏻 I know we’ve been rather MIA lately, so thank you for sticking around! And welcome to all of our new followers! Life’s been a bit hectic for us lately, which is why I haven’t been posting on here as often. Plus, it’s winter and I really haven’t been doing much farm-related work besides dreaming and planning our growing plan for 2022. Life has been very challenging over the last few years, and I’m a pretty private person so I don’t like to always share what is going on in our personal lives. Moving forward into 2022, we are doing our best to simplify, streamline and just overall make things easier for ourselves, and this is spilling over into our growing plan as well. So, my plan for 2022 is to focus in on growing larger quantities of fewer varieties. I’m focusing in on varieties that are easy to grow and harvest, that sell well as single variety bunches, and that I enjoy growing. And of course there will be dahlias! Thanks again for sticking around, and if you’ve read this far then thank you so much! I would love to know what your growing plans or goals are for 2022?

Hi everyone 👋🏻 I know we’ve been rather MIA lately, so thank you for sticking around! And welcome to all of our new followers! Life’s been a bit hectic for us lately, which is why I haven’t been posting on here as often. Plus, it’s winter and I really haven’t been doing much farm-related work besides dreaming and planning our growing plan for 2022. Life has been very challenging over the last few years, and I’m a pretty private person so I don’t like to always share what is going on in our personal lives. Moving forward into 2022, we are doing our best to simplify, streamline and just overall make things easier for ourselves, and this is spilling over into our growing plan as well. So, my plan for 2022 is to focus in on growing larger quantities of fewer varieties. I’m focusing in on varieties that are easy to grow and harvest, that sell well as single variety bunches, and that I enjoy growing. And of course there will be dahlias! I’ve been busy this week making lots of festive fall offerings, including the cute mini pumpkins I shared yesterday and some beautiful everlasting dried flower bouquets. All of which have now been uploaded onto our online store (link in bio) for you to purchase. Or feel free to send me a DM to place an order. I also have plenty of dried blooms left to arrange with, so if you’d like me to custom make something for you I am happy to do that as well. Pickup available both on Salt Spring and in South Surrey over the next few weeks leading up to Thanksgiving 🍂

My first ever attempt at making dried flower arrangements 💜
Next week we are headed to the Kootenays to visit my family, and I really wanted to bring them some flowers but knew that fresh cut flowers would suffer during the ferry and 8+ hour drive to get there. Enter dried flowers! I used some of the ranunculus I dried earlier this spring, plus some other goodies I’ve been squirrelling away over the last couple of months. This year I really put an effort into growing more dryable flowers and I am so glad I did because I am loving this result! What about you, have you jumped on the dried flower bandwagon yet?

Our sweet peas have bounced back after suffering from the heat wave at the end of June, and they are looking better than ever! There was a week or two when I was seriously worried they were going to be done for the season, and all the time I spent taking care of them since January would have been for nothing. But they are once again pumping out blooms on long, strong stems!
We will be heading to Surrey next week for an appointment and can bring some of these gorgeous blooms for anyone who wants some. Send us a DM if you’d like to place an order! I may also be able to bring a couple of market bouquets featuring these beauties and a mix of some other goodies currently blooming on the farm.
